We all mark milestones in different ways. D wanted to celebrate her birthday with a very special photo shoot. After tossing ideas back and forth, she decided to do a sexy men's wear shoot. There is something so hot about a really feminine woman in men's clothing. Marlene Dietrich knew this in the 1930s.
With hair by Whitney Olivia, makeup by Kelly Bryce and a few choice wardrobe pieces from a male friend, we started her shoot at Cinderbloc Studios in Victoria BC.
Cinderbloc is this amazing loft space with an industrial look and lots of natural light.
I love the above shot because she looks like she's hanging at a cool speakeasy.
"I dress for the image. Not for myself, not for the public, not for fashion, not for men." - Marlene Dietrich.
D absolutely nailed her shoot and the results ended up quite cinematic and jazzy. What would you do if you had a birthday session? Shoot us a line and let's chat!
