Red Riding Hood Portrait Session

I sometimes get on this kick I can't shake. I was in Northern Alberta on a small acreage outside of Grande Prairie when I got this idea for a modern take on Little Red Riding Hood. The January weather is so bleak and the red creates a start contrast with the snow and sky. My mother's malamute Angel subbed in as the wolf. We had to put a treat in Jessie's sleeve to get her to pay as close attention as she did. The wind was very cold and strong but it made for beautiful pictures. When you are out in cold weather it is important to keep track of how your model is doing. Sooner or later skin is going to turn red and chapped. We only stayed out 15 minutes at a time. I love this last shot because

Silver Screen-inspired Valentine's Day shoot

I find myself heavily influenced by film and in particular cinematography and the sex symbols of old Hollywood. Regan strongly reminds me of Veronica Lake so I couldn't resist turning her photos black and white. Valentines Day doesn't have to be all hearts and red lacy underwear. Even though this teddy was originally cherry red, I think it still looks wonderful in high contrast black and white. Catch a Kiss is taking bookings for Valentine's Day shoots in January so you can have your photos in time for that special someone. Drop me a line and let me know what inspires you.
